Doreen began her career on the frontline of children's services in the early 1990s — as a social worker, then a team manager, then a senior leader. She has written care plans, chaired strategy meetings, managed safeguarding investigations, and sat across the table from Ofsted inspectors. That lived experience is not background colour. It is the foundation of every piece of advice she gives.

Over two decades of working within and alongside the regulatory system has given Doreen an unusually deep understanding of how Ofsted thinks, what inspectors look for, and how the gap between good practice and outstanding evidence is closed. She has led organisations through inspections, supported providers in challenging judgements, and developed quality assurance systems that stand up to scrutiny.

As a provider herself — having established and operated children's services — Doreen understands the commercial, operational, and reputational pressures that leaders face. She does not offer advice from the outside. She has navigated the same decisions, the same resource constraints, and the same regulatory expectations that her clients face every day.
